Turkish Apple Yoghurt/Lime

Another convincing creation of our house. The already first-class with the fresh apple and lemon taste receives reinforcements. This Turkish apple tea also counts on the pure strength of sweet apple and pineapple pieces;  however it receives additional aromatic support from a combination of delicious, sweet, soft, somewhat cake-like flavour notes. The fresh and sweetish yoghurt taste complements magnificently the special citrus fruit.

Brazilian Mate

This national beverage with caffeine originally comes from Paraguay, southern Brazil and Argentina. The tea comes from the green leaves of a type of holly that is said to have manifold beneficial effects. Therefore, in South America, Mate tea is also called "Beverage of the Gods" or the "Green Gold of the Indios". Drinking Mate out of one cup was a ritual and sometimes had the function of a peace pipe with the natives. Mostly enjoyed outside at the campfire, it became the national drink in almost every country in the continent over the years. The caffeine is bound to tannic substances and is set free in the body very mildly. Hence, its stimulating effects last longer than that of coffee. A short infusion time brings about a stimulating effect, a longer one weakens it.

Java • PS • SUNDA PURWA

Indonesia not only offers the classic black teas on Sumatra and Java, but also excellently produced green teas. In the mid 19th century the green tea production was commenced around the city of Bandung. In Kiwidey, a little to the south of Bandung, the "Sunda Purwa" is harvested and produced almost year-round. This coarse Pekoe-type is made from medium leaves and is a very down-to-earth variety with an excellent value for money. It impresses with an expressive body and intensive flavour even after having been infused a couple of times.

Sencha • Apricot Kernel   [Remnants and Oddments]
Sencha • Apricot Kernel
We have just dicovered the sweet apricot kernel for our tea blends: the soft core which can be found inside the seed shell of the fruit. It looks like an almond and its taste is like the secret of a perfect persipan! This combination, which will surely surprise the one or the other tea lover, was the basis for this flavour sensation on a blend of "China Sencha" and "Japanese Bancha": fruity-sweet apricots in combination with delicate marzipan. Simply refined - in taste as well as the optic with the added orange blossoms and peony petals.

Fennel Aniseed Blend   [Preorder]
Fennel Aniseed Blend

This blend of different spice seeds harmonizes perfectly. Children love the tender, sweet fennel infusion. The aniseed too, offers a bit of sweetness and, of course, its typical aniseed note. In the background, the caraway gives us its pleasant, spicy, strong variety of flavours. This herb tea blend obtains a perfect and aromatic taste nuance from a little pinch of coriander and does not need further flavouring. Enjoy the original and mild flavour!

Strawberry/Cream   [Remnants and Oddments]
Strawberry/Cream

A classic among the flavoured teas. This evergreen is a real must in every tea assortment. Taste the excellent combination of juicy and fruity strawberry with tender, sweet cream. It makes you think of fresh strawberries topped with whipped cream, eaten while sitting in the summer sun. The rich decoration with strawberry pieces and coconut shreds is well crafted and balanced. The typical strawberry flavour combined with cream aroma refines our sweet and mild Rooibos basis. A pleasure without limits.

Lapacho

Our quality is from the inner bark of the Tecoma-Lapacho tree, also known as "Purple Lapacho Tree" which - compared to the outer bark - is much more homogenous and, above all, less duty and sweeter in taste. Due to its pleasantly mild aroma, which reminds a bit of vanilla or caramel, this tea is very popolar. It contains less tannic acid and no caffeine.

Preparation: Pour only 1 tablespoon (approx. 10 g) per 1 litre water into cold water and wait until it boils; let it boil for approx. 5 minutes and then brew for another 20 minutes.

Lemon grass

There are approximately 55 different varieties of lemon grass, which belongs to the family of sweet grass plants. Lemon grass has its origin in South East Asia, Sri Lanka, India and Australia. The plant, also known as Citronella, is mainly used as a spice in Asia cuisine. The dried plant is used in cut or ground form. However, the fresh stalk of lemon grass has an extraordinary, slightly rose-like and fresh, lemon aroma with an exotic note of its own. The fresh or dried leaves are also used in the tea blends for a thirst-quenching effect. The most popular variety is imported from India, whereas in India itself the plant is mainly used for the production of cosmetics and perfumes.

Gruziya • Type OP

This tea is modelled on the original Georgian quality, which is, unfortunately, no longer available. These qualities are very popular in Russia and are sweetened not only with lots of sugar, but also with a jam called Warenje and consumed in large quantities. Our Gruziya is a mild, pleasant leaf blend from high-quality Chinese black teas, with a soft, light-coloured cup, a tender taste and a hint of a smoke note. The flavour is round and slightly spicy. The leaf is regular and dark in colour.

As the demand for competitively priced consumer qualities is more present than ever, we are introducing this blend, which offers excellent value for money. All teas forming part of this blend were acquired towards the end of the season and show a very cleanly worked leaf with some green tips.
