Malawi Satemwa • THYOLO Peony

White tea and its various versions are originally from China. Due to its continuous popularity, other cultivation countries have started to also create these teas. Both for our characteristically totally different Peony varieties are based on the same unique climate and the more than 80 years old Chinese tea shrubs. Not quantity is what counts here but quality! The pale-yellow infusion of the lime-green leaves has a slightly herbal scent and tastes delicately smooth with some touches of rose and lime blossoms. A wonderful delicacy for all green tea lovers!

Vietnam • TUNG TING (Oolong)

The city of Bao Loc is located in the Lam Dong province in the highlands of Southern Vietnam. In its surroundings excellent green Oolong varieties are produced using ancient Taiwanese methods. The freshly picked tealeaves are first laid out on cloth to be dried in the sun under the open sky. Then, they are rolled in cylindrical bamboo baskets till they get crushed which starts the fermenting. After reaching the desired level of fermentation, the tea is dried using low temperatures. The glowing green cup has a flowery scent and caresses everyone's taste buds with its flowery, sweet flavour.

China • Cui Min Qingshan (organic)

This tea is hand-picked on the Qingshan Tea Farm in the countryside of the province of Hunan at an altitude of approximately 750 m. Our quality was plucked during the spring harvest, between the end of March and the beginning of April. Only un-opened buds are selected and processed for this tea. The infusion is mild, aromatic and has a slight hay-like flavour.

Japan Sencha • YAMATO

If you are looking for a strictly classic green tea, you have found it in this autumn tea of highest quality. It has a very powerful taste with notes of the typical Japanese tanginess and it is very aromatic. This also shows in the full colour of the infusion. A tea with such a distinct taste would probably be too much for beginners, but it is a treat for the long-time green tea connoisseur. Compared to „Sencha Fuji” or „Fukujyu”, this tea is reacher in content and stronger.

China • Zhejiang • LUNG CHING (organic)

The eastern province of Zhejiang is famous for Lung Ching tea, which has been grown at the western lake Xihu near the city of Longjing ever since the time of the Tang dynasty. Also known as the "Dragon Fountain Tea" following a legend about a rain-bringing dragon, it was awarded the highest possible title: "Tea of the Emperor". Its taste gives you an idea why. It is light, a little sweet and fruity without losing the classical green tea character, with a really royal temper. The top quality is carefully dried by hand in pans after wilting and thus receives a flat, emerald-green leaf.

SPECIALITY!!!

Formosa • Oolong • BUTTERFLY OF TAIWAN

This leaf with its many shades of green and brown is only produced in the Taiwanese highlands. Stopping the fermentation process at the right moment leaves only the edges fermented, whereas the leaf centre remains green. This quality has a fleshier and more finely processed leaf than standard Oolongs. The cup shines a brassy colour. The infusion shows the blaze of colour with the differences between intense green and brown colours. The tea has a slight black tea character with a pleasant sweetness and a slightly doughy note.

China • Fujian • WHITE MONKEY

Should there ever be an official hall of fame for the world's top teas, this speciality certainly would belong in the upper category. It was originally grown in Fujian at such high amplitudes that monkeys were trained to pluck the leaves. Today, people do this during a period of several days. The rough, slightly fluffy leaf makes a light green infusion and a mild cup. Slight nuances of honey characterise this fascinating tea. A must for every lover of green tea.

Nepal • JUN CHIYABARI (organic)

We are delighted to be able to offer this extraordinary plucking as an organic quality now! The success story started in the year 2000 when three tea lovers founded this fine, exclusive, 75 hectares large tea garden in East Nepal in order to produce, amongst other teas, half-fermented premium qualities in close corporation with several smaller farms. Serious competition for the Oolongs from Darjeeling and Formosa with an annual export of only a few lots with just under 100 kg net produce each. Both tea leaves and infusion have an intense scent of hay flowers, a complex, freshly aromatic and slightly earthy character with a delicately sweet spiciness.

Darjeeling • FTGFOP1 • PHUGURI (organic)

This plantation has a surface of more than 400 hectares and is located near the Kachenjunga mountain range. During the winter vegetation break, the plants, cultivated at altitudes of between 1,400 and 2,400 m, find their energy to convince us, as every year, of thwir extraordinary first and second flush qualities. The leaves are large and regular with a classical, beautiful first flush appearance and large portions of silvery tips. With a very flowery and spicy character of its own and a sweet body, this tea has a highly aromatic scent. The infusion is a very bright orange.
